A Pioneer of the green, natural energy web hosting movement in Canada
GreenGeeks at a Glance
GreenGeeks is one of the first Canadian web hosting companies to move to a green hosting infrastructure.
They pride themselves on using only sustainable energy. GreenGeeks owner, Trey Gardner, claims to have over 30 years experience in providing web hosting services to business owners and entrepreneurs.
He started GreenGeeks in 2006 and since then has focused on providing web hosting services in Canada, while maintaining green energy standards.
No major issues here. Uptime seems to be good, clocking in at 99.9%, and I don’t think I ever really experienced a time where my website felt like it was having problems. Sometimes with webhosts your website can get “sluggish”.
I didn’t notice much of the sluggish website behaviour thankfully, other than maybe when I was uploading content onto my WordPress website.
I really can’t complain about the customer service, unless you’re comparing it against other hosts.
Given that they charge a higher price than some of the other hosts, I was hoping that the level of customer service would go up accordingly.
Unfortunately this wasn’t the case for me, and if I have any criticism, it would be that I expect a little bit faster and thorough responses for what I was paying.
If you’re looking for a Canadian web host with a focus on environmental friendliness, a decent level of support and all the bare essentials you’d need to start up your website, this may be a good option.
For the price sensitive and if you’re looking for a higher level of support, I would consider checking out my other choices for the top Canadian hosts.
